The fourth annual Telluride Plein Air Celebration was our most successful event to date generating more than $200,000 in art sales and raising nearly $70,000 for the Sheridan Arts Foundation. The proceeds from this sale will benefit community programming and non-profit rentals subsidies at the Historic Sheridan Opera House in Telluride, CO.

The 2007 Telluride Plein Air Quick Draw  Competition winner was Randall Sexton for his piece entitled “Sidewalk Bikes”. Randall is pictured here with judges Julie McNair (left) and Shawna Hartley (center) of the AhHaa School for the Arts.  Randall’s piece will be featured at the 2007 AhHaa School Art Auction to benefit this extraordinary local art program. Participants in this year’s contest were limited to Main St. in downtown Telluride and given 90 minutes to prepare their painting.





2007 Telluride Plein Air Artist Choice Award
"Prayer Flags, Telluride "

First time participant of the Telluride Plein Air Celebration, Scott Lloyd Anderson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was honored with the 2007 Artist Choice Award.   Scott’s painting, entitled “Prayer Flags, Telluride”, was chosen as Best in Show by the participating artists in this year’s event, and will be the feature image for the 2008 Telluride Plein Air Celebration. Congratulations to Scott for this incredible work.

This year’s Artist Choice Award contest was a close race among the top three vote recipients. 2nd Prize went to Terry Masters and the 3rd Place winner was Randall Sexton.


Art comes in all forms…
Rhythm & Blues Legend Booker T Jones of the Grammy Award winning Booker T & the MG’s played to a sold-out crowd at Sheridan Opera House following the Telluride Plein Air Artist Choice Gala and Reception.
